Pomona College: Perspectives on Pomona (POP!)

From the website:

The Perspectives on Pomona (POP!) fall fly-in program welcomes students from diverse backgrounds who are traditionally underrepresented in higher education to experience the Pomona College campus.

During POP! prospective students will have the opportunity to meet current students, speak with faculty and explore the Pomona College community. Although space is limited due to the small size of our engaged community, we are dedicated to providing this opportunity to those whom the program will most benefit.

All POP! participants are provided with on-campus housing, meals and shuttle transportation between local airports and Pomona College. Travel grants are available to cover airfare expenses.

Contact us with questions at  (909) 607-3028 or diversity@pomona.edu. ¡Hablamos español!

Sip your coffee, schmear your bagel, or design your own omelet while Admissions officers go over the schedule and provide their own warm welcome to all POP! attendees.

Financial Aid Workshop

Meet our dedicated Financial Aid counselors, who will walk POP! attendees through Pomona's financial aid policies.

Brunch at Frary Dining Hall

Breakfast was long ago, so it's time for Pomona's famous Sunday brunch!

1:30 – 3:30 p.m.
Scavenger Hunt

No, this is not a ten-year-old's birthday party. It's a fun way to explore campus with newly made or soon-to-be friends.

3:30 – 4:30 p.m.
Real Talk about Pomona

No props or stage directions, just current Pomona students who want to meet POP!sters and answer their questions about academics and life at Pomona.

7:30 – 8:15 a.m.
Breakfast at Frank Dining Hall

Wow! That's early! But breakfast is an important meal, so set your alarm and join other POP! attendees for tea and muffins (or bacon and eggs) to jump-start your day.

8:30 – 10 a.m.
Meet the Admissions Team

One of our favorite times of the year: a chance to meet POP! attendees and share silly stories about ourselves.

10 – 11 a.m.
Why Pomona?

If you haven't yet figured out "why Pomona?" we offer you the chance to hear from faculty about the kind of academic experiences and support you can expect at Pomona.

12 – 1 p.m.
Lunch with Staff

Hungry yet? Time for another meal, this time with staff who can answer questions about residence halls, sponsor groups, orientation, academic resource centers, and other first-year-experience stuff.

1:30 – 4 p.m.
Class Visits, Open Offices & Campus Tours

You decide: visit a class, stop by the Career Development Office, or hop on a campus tour? We'll have options for you to consider, so feel free to join activities that pique your interest.

4 – 4:30 p.m.
Applying to Pomona

Getting down to the nitty-gritty, an Associate Dean of Admissions will chat with POP!sters about the application process.

5:30 – 7 p.m.
Outdoor Dinner

Eat, meet and be merry! Share a meal with Pomona faculty, deans, and senior leaders as the sun sets on another day.

We will be sad to see you go but will try to keep the tears to a minimum. Until we meet again!
