Dr. Wynetta A. Frazier Scholarship: $1,000

SCHOLARSHIP PURPOSE - The Wynetta A. Frazier “Sister-to-Sister” Scholarship was created to provide financial assistance to mature African American Women in their pursuit of post-secondary education. An applicant must be a returning student, whose education was interrupted by family responsibilities or other personal demands and is now ready to complete college or one who is entering college for the first time because of these factors. (Please explain) All applicants must meet the prescribed scholarship criteria.

Eligibility Requirements for $1,000.00 Dr. Wynetta A. Frazier “Sister-to-Sister” Scholarship

Applicants for Dr. Wynetta A. Frazier “Sister-to-Sister” Scholarship must:

  • Be at least 21 years of age and meet at least one of the criteria stated under “Scholarship Purpose”

  • Be accepted to a college or university

  • Demonstrate special talents gained through previous academic work, civic contributions, and/or social services.

  • Be able to demonstrate written communication skills in a 450-500-word essay

Application Requirements Each applicant must submit a completed application that includes the following documents:

  • A Completed Scholarship Application

  • Letter of acceptance from college or university you will be attending

  • Two (2) Letters of Recommendation (Letters from family members are not acceptable)

  • An official transcript from the last college/university you attended, if you are a continuing or returning student OR official high school transcript, if you are a first time student

  • A recent photo (at least a 2x3 & no larger than 5x7)

  • A 450-500-word essay on the topic listed below

Essay must:

  • Contain 450-500 words

  • Be typed and double-spaced

  • Be written on the topic below:

    • Explain the circumstances that you believe qualify you for this scholarship. Also, describe any special talents gained through previous academic work, civic contributions, community service, and/or social services, and explain how these special talents have influenced who you are today.
