The Shawn Carter Scholarship Fund (SCSF) was founded on the belief that any motivated individual in need should have the opportunity to further his or her education. By removing some of the financial burdens associated with going to, surviving in, and graduating from college, the SCSF plays a vital role in increasing college access and success for many motivated yet underserved youth and young adults. Cancer for College Scholarship: $5,000

Since 1993, Cancer for College, a registered 501(c)3 charitable foundation, has provided hope and inspiration to cancer survivors in the form of college scholarships. Community college applicants are eligible but award may not be greater than the amount needed.  All remaining applicants will be eligible for other one-time awards. Awards are typically $5,000 each. Scholarship recipients must maintain full-time enrollment at his/her stated university.

South Carolina LIFE Scholarship: Up to $7,500

The Legislative Incentive for Future Excellence (LIFE) Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship program administered by the financial aid office at each eligible public and independent college and university in South Carolina.  The LIFE Scholarship may be used towards the cost of attendance for up to eight terms based on the student's initial college enrollment date.

S.C. Need-Based Grant

The purpose of the S.C. Need-based grant is to provide additional financial aid to South Carolina’s neediest students. A student may receive up to $2,500 annually if enrolled full-time or up to $1,250 annually if enrolled part-time as a degree-seeking student at an eligible S.C. public institution. The funding for the grant is split in half between any two semesters out of the academic year (i.e. fall, spring, or summer), assuming continued eligibility.
